Headcanons

Disclaimer: The following stuff are made specifically for this version of Harry and should not be lumped into other versions of him as played by other players. I don’t own the Wizarding World and the Harry Potter series, nor do I know J.K. Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe personally; I just made and own these headcanons. These are made for fun on my part. Unless needed or noted, these things won’t supersede canon in any form. This list will get updated at any time whenever this player comes up with some more fresh ideas.

  • Despite attending plenty of Halloween events in Hogwarts, Harry’s never been a fan of Halloween: in fact deep in his heart, he really hates it since his parents got killed off on that day by Voldemort when he was a baby, although you could never tell that at first glance. Those memories still haunt him to this day. Don’t expect him to go trick-or-treating out in the streets any time soon. With Halloween parties (including Nearly Headless Nick’s Death Day) though, he could tolerate them as much as he could.
  • One of the least attended classes in Hogwarts is Gaelic 101 (more specifically, Irish Gaelic). So little-known among the student body in fact, that not even Hermione has heard of it one bit. Yet Harry did took it sometime during his Third Year mainly out of curiosity: he had vaguely heard Lily singing him Gaelic lullabies when he was a baby and Petunia rarely using it when scolding Dudley, which is also very rare. He can now speak fluent (Irish) Gaelic really well, although he will quickly deny that he can speak it just to mess with people. Unless you’re Irish or can speak/understand fluent Irish Gaelic. And it wasn’t long when he and Hermione were at Godric’s Hallow did he learned of his maternal Irish bloodline from going through Lily’s old documents and seeing a family tree embroidery she made weeks after his birth in the ruined remains of the Potter Cottage, which got him very curious to rediscover it in the near future. Plus his film actor is half Northern Irish, which is the main inspiration for this HC.
  • While he certainly did loved Ginny, he did realized that their dating at the time was pretty rushed. That is the reason, aside from her safety and to give her some space, as to why he broke up with her before heading off to haunt Horcruxes, but the message didn’t got to her immediately that she yelled at him for being a lousy friend and ex-boyfriend for not informing her ahead of time at the beginning of the Battle of Hogwarts. Ouch!
  • He’s secretly a music lover by heart. Whenever everyone in 4 Privet Drive falls asleep since childhood, he would sneak into the living room and play whatever CD, vinyl record, or cassette he has found in a lower volume as not to wake anyone up, lest he wants to incur the wrath of his uncle and aunt in the middle of the night. But if he’s in Hogwarts, he doesn’t have the luxury of listening to music in the Common Room at night without disturbing the other students. That’s among the things he actually misses in the Muggle Community whenever he’s in Hogwarts and during the Horcrux Hunt.
  • Ever since the Dementor Attack of 1995, he and Dudley are slowly but surely rebuilding their relationship from scratch from childhood bullying on the latter’s end to near brotherly friendship. If Harry had left him to die from having his entire life sucked out from him, he’s pretty sure that Vernon and Petunia will hate his guts even more and he chose to protect both himself and Dudley of all people at that moment in time because he still cares for him even after all the painful years and memories. By the time the Durlseys had to move out in the beginning of Deathly Hallows, both men had secretly made a promise of reuniting afterwards and further making amends without Dudley’s parents breathing down on their necks.
  • Poor Harry can’t do foreign accents to save his life: they either sound irritating like nails scratching on a blackboard or, in the case of his American accent, sounds suspiciously a lot like J. Pierrepont Finch as played by his film actor in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Here's one example of how the ‘American’ accent sounds like (from the OG Harry himself before he got better at it). He once tried to do a French accent to amuse newfound friend Fleur Delacour when they met again in his Fifth Year, but it was pretty mediocre. Except for Irish, especially when he talks in Irish Gaelic which is his strongest and most convincing foreign accent to date thanks to him studying Irish Gaelic in Hogwarts.
