Character Motivation: Harry’s adventures have 3 main goals/motivations going for him: love and compassion for friends and family (who are not his mean relatives), doing the right thing, and stopping Voldemort; the former 2 being of his own choice while the former was forced upon by Voldemort targeting his family after his parents defied him 3 times, which led to their deaths and Harry becoming an unintentional Horcrux and a Chosen One.
Despite having one of the worst guardian families and upbringings in the world, Harry is capable of being able to love those he cares so much for, while it’s true that he is not a people person, he does have a close circle of friends he can rely on, even if it means sometimes getting in conflicts with them, especially with the couple of times he, Ron and Hermione butt heads with each other. Unlike Voldemort who has many followers but never experienced real unconditional love in his life, Harry is the one person who, once you get to know him more, will always be there for you until the end and knows how important having a good support system really is, especially more so in the later stories where he becomes more withdrawn and have a lot of stuff to deal with that a normal person (let alone a normal wizard) should never go through in life.
While Harry does enjoy magic, he does come to the realization that all is not well in Wizarding Britain: such as blood purity and the terrible treatment of others different from wizards. Maybe it was the fact that he had a rough upbringing or it could be his compassionate heart, but the fact remains is that he can’t stand bad stuff happening to society (wizarding world society, but still). For him, there has to be change, something to fix what is broken and he could see cracks from within, especially with the Ministry of Magic in the later stories. He wants to help out others no matter what and risks breaking the rules in order to do the right thing, even if it means using some questionable things, such as spying on Draco in Half-Blood Prince or casting 2 of the three Unforgivable Curses in Deathly Hallows. There is a clear knowledge of right and wrong in him and he won’t stop until everything has been sorted out. But that too can lead him away from the goal and he has a tendency to be a self righteous prick at times. And yes, this also leads to the people saving thing that gets him blinded at times and, when someone dies and especially if they are the person he cares for and loves dearly, that gets him feel guilty for not helping them out, even though it was not his fault that it happened.
As for stopping Voldemort, yeah, that was forced upon him because the Prophecy and Voldemort said so. Still, that has interwoven itself with the doing the right thing goal over time. Over the course of his story, Harry began to acknowledge and realize how much of a threat He Must Not Be Named’s power can be and is determined to stop him in his tracks before things go bad real quickly. Even if no one believed him at first, he knew that, later in the long run, if there is nothing that has been done to curtail the Dark Lord’s power, then everyone is screwed up. Later on after witnessing young Tom Riddle’s memories via the Pensieve in Half Blood Prince, he was surprised to learn that they weren’t so different in some aspects (but took different paths and outlooks in life) and at the end, he didn’t went in facing Voldemort with anger, but rather with courage and mercy, asking him before the last fight to redeem himself and change for the better.
Personality: Compared to what most people (aka the British wizarding community) may think of him either as a savior or a terror to watch out for, Harry’s quite complicated to pinpoint into one thing: in fact, he has so many layers to look into. For one, his strongest aspect is being able to love, it is this very thing that is pivotal to beat Voldemort in his ‘take over the Wizarding World’ plan, for the latter never knew what love really is. It doesn’t even help that he wasn’t given any loving care from his aunt and uncle in his childhood though, but whenever he bonds with someone, he’ll take his relations with that person seriously, whether with friends or family. He’ll risk his own life just to make sure that the people he love stay safe, however the whole ‘people saving’ thing, as Hermione called it, often confuses him in whether if someone is in danger or not. Lily’s kindness has been passed down onto him, he’s more than kind enough to help those who need help. He seriously values friendship and family more than anything as he does come from a really rocky childhood among abusive relatives. Being the ‘Boy Who Lived’ has taken a toll on his life, and he sometimes feels super lonely, due to the childhood misery he got early on. He does like being around people, but he’s more of a close-ties person rather a full-on extrovert that most Gryffindors are most likely to be. He’s really a nice friendly guy, unless you push him too far, that is. Then he’ll be cranky, all-out emo, and snarky as hell. He can be quite arrogant, stubborn, and act like a jerk at times without noticing it, which is a trait passed on from his dad James, which almost broke his friendship with Ron during the Horocrux Hunt.
In a glance, Harry seems to be your average Gryffindor: brave, loyal, courageous, jumps into fights even if he doesn’t know how they’ll end but he has to do something! Also worth noting in his Gryffindor stats, he can be reckless at times (such as snooping on Draco Malfoy in his Sixth Year without knowing of the consequences), yet he’s willing to reason out usually depending on who he’s talking to (mostly *cough, cough*Hermione*cough, cough*). He can make friends easily, as he was able to make close ties with Ron at the Hogwarts Express in their First Year, and with Hermione after he and Ron saved her from being attacked by a troll. He’s fiercely protective and loyal of his friends, to make the story short. This fellow also has a clear sense of right and wrong whenever he comes across bad people or events, trying to understand the situation. He can stand up for himself, and whatever he knows is right, even people of high authority aren’t immune to his wrath, it could rub off on people in the wrong way if he isn’t being careful with what he says. He was able to shrug off being possessed by Voldemort and the Imperious Curse as a teen, and can hold his ground even at the face of ruthless school adversary, such as with the rumors of him being Syltherin’s Heir in Second Year, he managed to confront the people spewing them, in spite of the trouble these gave him.
Yet, there’s more to him to being a just regular ole’ Gryffindor. He was this close to be sent to Slytherin in his first year for various reasons: first off, he can be sneaky and clever as he can be if he wants to be. He can handle puzzles pretty decently, although he’s not as scary-smart as Hermione or has the same Wizard Chess skills as with Ron. Harry’s also pretty determined in achieving his goals (short-term and long-term alike), which is another trait associated with the Slytherin house. If he has something certain on his mind, he’ll go straight for it, no stops on end! Not to mention being so stubborn and focused on the goal. He doesn’t even mind breaking some rules to just to get the job done, which happens to him a LOT, although he does certainly knows when to back out which is, again, another Slytherin thing.
Harry has also shown resourcefulness, thinks on his feet, and makes use of the items & environment around him to get to his goals, which is also another Slytherin trademark. While he doesn’t admit it publicly, he’s quite an ambitious guy, with the main one being stopping Voldemort from screwing up the Wizarding World until he’s dead. This is also highlighted with the fact that he tends to make himself so unassuming that he never brags so much on his abilities publicly. And oh, they said Slytherins make good leaders, right? Oh, that screams Harry too, even though he wasn’t planning on being one anyway, but he does a surprisingly good job at it, as he led Dumbledore’s Army in his Fifth Year and the Gryffindor Quidditch Team in his Sixth Year.
He doesn’t take keeping secrets to remain secrets too well, essentially acting as an information sponge that everyone has to spill the beans to, although he has to learn that not every secret should be spilled out and that truth may not be open to everyone. What do you expect from someone who hates being locked out of the loop by grown-ups for so long? However, him withholding secrets from others doesn’t mean he hates or doesn’t trust someone, he only does it because he thinks this is the only way to keep them safe from harm. He can be reckless in action and thought, is stubborn as a mule, and a hot-headed & moody creature. After all, teenagers are moody creatures, although he has other problems no other teen should go through, such as people trying to kill him, so you can’t hardly blame him for acting strangely whenever something bad happens.
He has suffered depression and PTSD due to the scary combination of a terrible childhood spent with the Dursleys and having to deal with the complications that come with being the ‘Chosen One’, the madness that is the Second Wizarding War, losing many friends & allies over the years, and the heavy weight of the fame he had got from surviving the Killing Curse through his mom’s sacrifice as a baby. Because of all of this, he has fend for himself most of the time or he’ll get crushed literally and figuratively. He just wants to be seen as like any other person (or wizard for that matter): he would rather want to be remembered for his own skill sets than just his name alone.
The poor guy also has a tendency to being in the dumps and carrying the guilt that he shouldn’t be bothered with, especially when he felt responsible for Sirius’ death during his Fifth Year that he wasn’t quite sure if he had done something different to prevent it from happening. He can be very quiet and reserved, especially when he gets really moody or goes off moping, and if something bad happens or gets him off-guard or confused, he gets really more emo and brooding than, let’s say, Malfoy. And yes, he can get very judgmental at times, most especially with the Syltherin House in his early Hogwarts years, that the fact he has to deal with Colin Creevey, and even sometimes looking down on his good friend Neville at times (again this comes with the tendency of his to act unconsciously like an arrogant jerk at times), although over time with the House bias, he did open up his eyes to see more bad eggs in the other houses (including his own house) and some good Slytherins such as the case of Horace Slughorn and, yes, even Snape too. Nevertheless, he’s still a kind friendly guy who’ll be loyal to you & fight for you until the very end.

Apprentice Sorcerer Application
Class: It’s a toss up between Hero and Mystic. I have plans to make him to become a dual class Mystic / Hero apprentice at some point later in the game.
Weapon: If placed in Hero Class, I would suggest a double blade polearm like this for Harry.
Magic Style: If placed in Mystic Class, give him a deceptively normal looking wristwatch and hand gestures (since he is so good in looking so unassuming for the most part).
Sample Section
First Person Sample:
(The Mirror feed begins with a bespectacled young man, in his late teens and with a scar the shape of a lightning bolt on the right temple of his forehead, sitting at a dining nook and poking at the screen of his compact as if it was an alien object. While this is not his first time using something similar to the compact, it was certainly his first time using one that wasn’t a shard of magic glass and it actually has a keyboard to type on. The man was talking to the mirror as if he was a camera operator while adjusting the screen and setting up the compact.)
Okay, is this thing working properly? Okay, wow, it’s on! Brilliant.
(He soon realizes that there are other Apprentices who are probably seeing this happening.)
Oh! Hello. Hi, I know that this is not my world, as Merlin, well, not really the Merlin I know of in my world, has informed me earlier yesterday; it seems that my magic has been rewired to be something… different. At least Main Street is a sight better than where I was at originally, though I can’t seem to put my finger on. Hmmm... I’m pretty sure that this was just as confusing to you as it is to me, but I guess that I should introduce myself to you all. Anyway, I’m Harry, Harry Potter: I was (He paused for a bit and was going to say Hogwarts, or what was left of it, but decided not to say the school’s name just to be safe) somewhere in the middle of Scotland when I arrived here. It was a mess back home: I just came in from a war that had ended, it was rough out there and I, I...
(Harry then took a deep breath, wondering what to say next. He didn’t want to traumatize whoever was listening to him in the compact even further if he went too deep in retelling the Battle: the memories of the damages onto the school, the last fight with the Dark Lord, and bodies of the dead still fresh in his mind, it is hard to forget about them.)
Sorry about that, I haven’t quite shake off the shock immediately and I’m still recovering from the aftermath of the war in my world. I am going to be honest, I wasn’t really sure if I want to be here in the first place because of what I have went through back home, but I will do what I can to help out in the efforts and stop the Corrosion from destroying this world, all of us, and our worlds. So… When does my training start?
(Harry is hoping that someone can clear up some questions that are swimming in his head since he got here. At any time now.)
Third Person Sample:
“Well, this is something different from what I was expecting,” Harry muttered to himself as he walked down Main Street one balmy morning before the training sessions and saw people going about with their daily lives; so far, aside from a few smiles and waves, no one doesn’t simply stop and recognize him immediately, which is a change of pace for someone who, at this point, is so used to get recognized in a minute’s notice.
Main Street’s overall calm atmosphere and clean appearance is, in many ways, a far cry from what had happened to Hogwarts after the Battle with damaged and broken walls, so much rubble everywhere, and shattered windows, and there is no remainder of what he had lost, namely the likes of Fred, Remus, Tonks, and those who died defending Hogwarts. The guilt in him hurts from just thinking about it. No, he shouldn’t let those thoughts to get the best of him right now. It has been a few days since he arrived at the Kingdoms, and he still has a hard time trying to let the words of this world’s Merlin to sink in his mind.
A part of him wishes that he was back home and hanging out with Ron and Hermione at the Burrow right now, and he really does. Yet there is another part of him that is urging him, tugging him by the heartstrings, to fight for this world, his world and other worlds: the Corrosion is in some form like Voldemort’s Death Eaters but it is never evil and never good, just a corruption that spreads all over. If that Magic Mirror was right in bringing him here, that means that his help and Spark are needed and he really wants to help out in any way he can. Even if it means having to learn this new magic he now has, make his Spark grow stronger, believe in himself, and dealing with what his ‘class’ has offer to.
“Right,” he tried to reassure himself while thinking about it, “It’s like going back to Hogwarts all over again. You can do this, Harry. You can do it.”
